Journalism: Writing & Interviewing
A consistent writer on medium.com, with publications on different platforms on a range of topics from history to ethical story-telling. In addition, I have experience with interviewing high-profile individuals such as; Patricia Sellers— the Prosector for Slavery Crimes at the ICC, and Ingrid Thijssen—the head of the VNO-NCW, the largest lobbying firm in The Netherlands.
Research
Has conducted in depth research into the discourses of right-wing political movements against MENA refugees. Furthermore, for my masters thesis I conducted a thorough philosophical analysis of Black identity in relation to globalised capitalism. In turn, I have conducted human rights research concerning educational issues, including: corporal punishment, access to education, hair discrimination (in schools), gender inequality and much more.
Event Moderating
As a radio show host, I have held engaging conversations with a wide range of guests. I injected humour into the most serious topics with seasoned academics, and found moments of thoughtful reflection during more playful conversations with young people. Furthermore, in February 2024, I moderated the 2023 World Education Day Event for Broken Chalk. During this event, I connected the audience to our brilliant selection of guests, and asked relevant questions.
