World Education Day Event Moderation
In February of 2024, I moderated the World Education Day Event for Broken Chalk, an NGO based in The Netherlands focusing on rights to education. The event was an exhibition of the research we had all done for the World Education Day Report, and to hold discussions with educators.
I successfully secured 2 speakers for the event, who I interviewed on stage. One of them is an activist who is currently employed as a social worker in a predominantly Black community. He discussed the barriers his students faced, and what people can do to change this.
Another one runs a media literacy company which focuses on educating young men about the ways in which social media algorithms can impact their lives.
The other speaker is a journalist currently based in South Africa, who documents environmental abuse and women’s rights violations.
I really enjoyed this engaging opportunity, and felt privileged to have interviewed such interesting people.
